Mix & Match Bathroom Tiles

Incorporating tiles of different styles, patterns, colors, or textures allows for the creation of contrast and variety within the bathroom. This can prevent the space from appearing monotonous or bland, adding excitement and personality to the design.

Incorporating tiles of different styles, patterns, colors, or textures allows for the creation of contrast and variety within the bathroom. This can prevent the space from appearing monotonous or bland, adding excitement and personality to the design.

Mixing tiles can be used strategically to create focal points or accent areas within the bathroom. For example, a decorative mosaic tile could be used as a feature wall in the shower, drawing attention to specific areas and adding drama to the space. Different tile styles can play with the depth, creating visual layers within the bathroom.

For instance, combining glossy and matte tiles or using tiles with varying textures can add depth to walls or floors, making the space feel more dynamic and multi-dimensional. Mixing tiles of different sizes and shapes can help balance the scale and proportion of the bathroom.

Larger tiles can visually expand smaller bathrooms, while smaller tiles can add detail and intricacy to larger spaces.

Tile Variation

Combining tiles of varying scales can create a visually pleasing balance that enhances the overall design. Using different tile styles can help define transitional zones within the bathroom, such as the shower area, vanity area, or backsplash.

Tiles Define Spaces

Transitioning between different tile styles can visually delineate these areas, creating a sense of structure and organization within the space. As you can see in this particular bathroom, we used a pebble floor tile to stand on while showering.

It not only feels fantastic on your tired feet, but it gives definition to the shower area. The shower wall has a large accent tile, which somewhat replicates a mosaic tile pattern, to add subtle interest.

The square tiles within the shower/tub room are actually four different shades, giving dimension and movement in what would fall flat otherwise.
